This month's notes: December 2008: There's still lots to do at the farm.  Many farms have hayrides, winter events, Christmas trees and fresh local produce! Canning books and equipment like canners make great Christmas gifts: see this page! At many Christmas tree farms, there's lots to do in addition to getting a fresh tree! Organic farms are still not common, but any that are, have the word ORGANIC by their name! They will be available into late August. Black raspberries: Sweet and full of flavor. These black jewels are a treat to any palette. Picking season mid June to July. Blueberries: You can pick your own and save! If you need a large quantity pre-picked, please phone ahead and reserve  You may want to check out our blackberries when you call or visit, they mix very well to make a fantastic blackberry, blueberry jam (aka black & blue). We’re just off of I-71 at exit 34 in Kentucky. Go east off of the exit, at the second yellow flashing light (Pyle’s Body Shop) make a right, travel approx. 2 miles and we are on the left. • Hidden Hollow Orchard and Wildlife Sanctuary: 50 varieties of you-pick and market apples to order, nestled in a wildlife sanctuary. Open July 1-Nov. 1, daylight-dark, 3200 Apple Hill Road. Take La Grange Road to Factory Lane, go right, left on Old Henry Road East, right one mile on Apple Hill Road (this becomes gravel). The orchard is one half mile behind Two Lost Wheels Orchard.
